Façade at Whole Foods

Façade at Whole Foods

A mixed media illustration of the stark architectural facade at my local Whole Foods market. This is why I love doing these tiny works. All the materials are small enough to always have on me, so I can recreate the little things that capture my attention.

I don’t do a ton of graphite work, but when I do, I always enjoy the very ‘natural’ feel of the material and it’s incredibly flexible and forgiving behavior. This one was fun because the acrylic cover of the turntable is transparent, so it’s always fun to try to draw with that challenge.

Island Lantern

Island Lantern

We have a similar brass-framed glass lantern at home, which I based this festive graphite sketch on. I typically draw still-life pieces, so this was a departure from the norm as the lantern is the only real object in the drawing. Plus, this was drawn on Christmas Day.

Campfire

I fell in love with the beat on this track and then chopped it all to hell once I got it out of the Polyend Tracker and in to Logic Pro. This is the first track I’ve ever done where all the lyrics were written with a specific concept in mind. For this, it’s about finding yourself and believing in what you find.
