Upstairs Turntable
I don’t do a ton of graphite work, but when I do, I always enjoy the very ‘natural’ feel of the material and it’s incredibly flexible and forgiving behavior. This one was fun because the acrylic cover of the turntable is transparent, so it’s always fun to try to draw with that challenge.
Island Lantern
We have a similar brass-framed glass lantern at home, which I based this festive graphite sketch on. I typically draw still-life pieces, so this was a departure from the norm as the lantern is the only real object in the drawing. Plus, this was drawn on Christmas Day.
